MEET THE COMPANY

DAYNA CHUN (dancer)

Dayna Chun grew up in Honolulu and graduated from Mid Pacific School of the Arts. In college, she studied at Purchase Conservatory and London Contemporary Dance School before finishing her bachelors degree in dance at UH Manoa. Since graduating, Dayna has been in several performances for local dance companies such as Convergence Dance Theatre and Tau Dance Theatre. She continues to freelance including this past 2024 Super Bowl Half time show.

MADELYN BIVEN (dancer)

Madelyn Biven received a BFA from Fordham University / The Ailey School in 2009 where she was the recipient of the Ully Hirsch/Robert F. Nettleton Poetry Prize for Creative Writing. Making a transition to leave the continental U.S. and return home to Hawai’i in 2017, Madelyn has been a featured dancer in the Honolulu Biennial; Oahu Fringe (as a guest with electroViolet); Peiling Kao Dances; Maui Dance Festival; and Contact Hawaii, an annual exhibition exploring the notion of foreign contact as it relates to the Hawaiian Islands. She enjoys creating work with multidisciplinary artists on island and has shown collaborative pieces at Aupuni Space, Downtown Arts Center, Hawaii State Art Museum, and MoMA in NYC.

CAROLYN FEHER (dancer & choreographer)

After completing her Vocational Exams with the Royal Academy of Dance in 2005, Carolyn spent 12 years performing professionally with the Onium Ballet Project. She has also performed for Hawaii Opera Theatre and continues to perform with Hawaii Ballet Theatre to this day. She is the owner and director of Kailua Dance Academy and Kailua Dance Theatre, bringing quality arts, education, and opportunities to Windward Oahu. She is a National Dance Institute certified teacher, as well as a member of the Royal Academy of Dance, The National Dance Education Organization, and the International Dance Council.

Anna Quijano (dancer)

Anna Quijano is a performer, choreographer, and teacher who has received over 15 years of training in classical ballet, modern, contemporary, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and acro-gymnastics in Hawaii. She received her Bachelors in Fine Arts in Dance at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and is currently working towards her Masters in Fine Arts in Theatre and Dance with a focus in dance performance and choreography. She is also an instructor and choreographer at Rosalie Woodson Dance Academy, Ballet Hawaii, and teaches after school dance classes at various elementary schools on the island.

KRISTEN SANTHANY (dancer)

Kristen Santhany started dancing at age 5, studying tap, jazz, ballet, tumbling, and musical theater at The Movement Center in Honolulu. She also trained at Diamond Head Theatre, Punahou Tap Company, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She started teaching dance at 18, and now teaches at Kailua Dance Academy and PACKids. She is currently attending the University of Pennsylvania, pursuing a BS in Cybersecurity. When she isn’t dancing, she can be found working as a Technician for KW Systems Tech in Kailua.

AYAMI SATO (dancer)

Ayami Sato was born in Tokyo, raised in Honolulu. She began her dance training at the age of 5 at The Movement Center. She spent summers studying in New York at the Joffrey Ballet School. She competed at the Spotlight’s Dance Cup where she was awarded the Diamond Award, performed with the Spotlight Elite Dance Team, and placed in the Top 20 at Regionals. She studied at Marymount Manhattan College in New York with a focus in ballet. She has taught at Kailua Dance Academy and Drill Team Hawaii and is currently teaching at Honolulu Classical Ballet.

Ayami has performed locally with Hawaii Ballet Theater under Charlys Ing. She also performed in Kailua Dance Theater's "Holst: The Planets" with Carolyn Feher and DoubleTake Dance Company's Vanessa Martinez de Baños and Ashley Carter.

MARCUS STANGER (dancer)

Marcus attended Castle High School’s performing arts program, and later graduated from Windward Community College’s Theater department. He is a regular performer with Hawaii Ballet Theater, appearing both in their annual Nutcracker productions as well as performances throughout the year. In May 2024, he made his debut with Kailua Dance Academy, performing the role of Albrecht in their rendition of Giselle.

CAROLINE HARUKI (apprentice dancer)

Caroline began her training on Oahu, and is now attending the prestigious Ellison Ballet in New York City.
